सांसारिक वस्तुओं से प्रेम करने से प्राप्त सुख अस्थाई होते है। जबकि ईश्वरीय प्रेम से प्राप्त सुख स्थाई होता है। प्रेम तत्व सीधे हृदय से जुडा होने के कारण केवल अनुभवमुग्ध है।
इसे अनुमानादि सं नहीं जाना जा सकता न ही शब्दो के माध्यम से परिभाषित किया जा सकता है जब व्यक्ति प्रेम कि दुनिया में प्रवेश करता है तब उसके लिये इच्छा अनिच्छा ,हानि-लाभ ,मान- अपमान ,सुख-दुख,जय-पराजय सभी महत्वहीन हो जाते हैं। प्रेमानुभूति होते ही व्यक्ति के हृदय में कोमल भावों के उदगम के साथ ही सांसारिक विकार काम,क्रोध,मोह,आदि समूल नष्ट हो जाते हैं।
