भारतीय गणतंत्र के प्रथम राष्ट्रपति डा0 राजेन्द्र प्रसाद का जन्म 3 सितम्बर 1884 को हुआ था। जब वह कांग्रेस के मुंबई अधिवेशन के सभापति चुने गये तो जनता उन्हे देखने को बेचैन थी पर वह कहीं न दिखे । लोगों के आश्चर्य का ठिकाना न रहा कि जिस व्यक्ति को मंच कि ओर बडता देख लोगों के आश्चर्य का ठिकाना न रहा कि जिस व्यक्ति को मंच कि ओर बढता देख लोग भीड में धक्के दे रहे थे। वही जब किसी तरह मंच तक पहुचा तो लोगो ने उन्हे फूल मालाओं से लाद दिया एक बार उन्हे बिहार के एक छोटे राज्स जाना था।डनहे देर हो गयी आयोजक निराश होकर अपने काम में लग गए उनकी मोटर फेल हो गयी थी । वह आठ बजे वाली ट्रेन से आए चूकि किसी को कोई सूचना न थी। इसलिये कोई स्टेशन भी नही आया वह गााडी से उतरे और स्टेशन मास्टर के दफतर पंहुचकर बोले जरा फोन करना है अपने रौब में स्टेशन मास्टर ने कहा कौन हो तुम बह इतना भर बोले कि राजेन्द्र प्रसाद......कि स्टेशन मास्टर पुनः उबल पडा अरे राजेन्द्र प्रसाद नहीं आये आज।
जब उसे सच्चाई पता चली तो दंग रह गया।जब राजेन्द्र बाबू कांग्रेस के सभापति थ्ेा तो उन्ही दिनो किसी मौके पर इलाहाबाद आए। तब लीडर के संपादक थ्ेा । सीबाई चिंतामणि राजेन्द्र बाबू उनसे मिलने गए शाम हो रही थी। राजेन्द्र बाबू ने चपरासी को अपना कार्ड दिया चपरासी ने जाकर देखा कि चिंतामणि कुछ लिख रहे थे। चपरासी को टोकने की हिम्मत न हुयी और कार्ड मेज पर रखकर चुपचाप रखकर बाहर आ गया और अलाब के पास बैठ गया। कुछ देर तक तो राजेन्द्र बाबू असरा देखते रहे फिर जब कपकपी लगी तो खुद ही आग तापने लगे। लगभग एक घंटे बाद चिंतामणि कि दृष्टि कार्ड पर गयी तो देखा कि वह तो कांग्रेस के सभापति का कार्ड पडा है। चपरासी ने बताया कि एक घंटे से चिंतामणि जी को बडा दुख हुआ सोचा कि राजेन्द्र बाबू अवश्य ही लौट गये होगे फिर भी पूछा कि कौन आया था। एक आदमी लाया था वहां आग ताप रहा है वह बोले अच्छा उसे बुलाओ जब उस जगह स्वयं राजेन्द्र बाबू उठकर आये तो चिंतामणि स्तब्ध रह गये। कांग्रेस का सभापति इतनी सादगी गांधी जी के सच्चे अनुयायी राजेन्द्र बाबू 28 फरवरी 1963 को इस संसार से सदा के लिये बिदा हो गये।

There was no place for the surprise of the people that the person who was moving towards the stage could not be surprised to see that the person who was moving towards the stage was pushing people into the crowd. When he somehow reached the stage, people loaded him with flower garlands, once he had to go to a small Raj in Bihar. Late, the organizer got frustrated and his motor work failed. He came by the eight o'clock train as no one had any information. That is why no station even came, he got down from the train and reached the station master's office and said that in his awe, the station master said, "Who are you, you are so full that Rajendra Prasad ... ... that the station master was boiled again." Hey Rajendra Prasad did not come today.
When he came to know the truth, he was stunned. When Rajendra Babu was the President of the Congress, he came to Allahabad on those same days. The editor of the leader was then. Sibai Chintamani Rajendra Babu was going to meet him in the evening. Rajendra Babu gave his card to the peon. The peon went and saw that Chintamani was writing something. The peon did not dare to interrupt and came out quietly keeping the card on the table and sat near the alab. Rajendra Babu kept watching Asra for a while, then when the cupcake started, the fire itself started heating up. After about an hour, Chintamani's eyesight went to the card and saw that she had the card of the Congress President. The peon told that for an hour, Chintamani ji felt very sad that Rajendra Babu must have returned but still asked who had come. A man had brought fire there, he said, "Call him well. When Rajendra Babu himself came to that place, Chintamani was stunned." Congress President Rajendra Babu, a simple follower of such simplicity Gandhiji, departed from this world forever on 28 February 1963.
