बलूचिस्तान प्रांत का अर्थ है बलूच लोगों की भूमि यह एक देश नहीं है बल्कि पाकिस्तान के चार प्रांतों में से एक है भूमि क्षेत्रफल के मामले में बलूचिस्तान पाकिस्तान का सबसे बड़ा प्रांत है बलूचिस्तान की राजधानी क्वेटा है जो इसका सबसे बड़ा शहर है
बलूचिस्तान प्रांत पाकिस्तान की सेना द्वारा बलूच लोगों पर अत्याचार के कारण चर्चा में रहता है बलूचिस्तान की मिलियन कुल आबादी में से आबादी बलूच है पश्तून जबकि शेष में छोटे समुदाय शामिल हैं जैसे ब्राहुई, हज़ारस, सिंधी ,पंजाबी ,उज्बेक्स और तुर्कमेन्स

बलूचिस्तान प्रांत को छह डिवीजनों में विभाजित किया गया है . क्वेटा कलात नसीराबाद मकरान सिबी और ज़ोब इन छह प्रभागों को 34 जिलों में विभाजित किया गया है
बलूचिस्तान का क्षेत्र पाकिस्तान के कुल क्षेत्रफल का लगभग 40 है बलूचिस्तान क्षेत्र में उपलब्ध प्राकृतिक संसाधनों पर पाकिस्तान बहुत अधिक निर्भर है
बलूचिस्तान की अर्थव्यवस्था मुख्य रूप से प्राकृतिक गैस कोयला और अन्य खनिजों जैसे सोना तांबा आदि के उत्पादन पर आधारित है यहाँ पर बिजली पानी और पर्याप्त परिवहन सुविधाओं के अभाव के कारण कृषि विकास नहीं हो सका है
गेहूं चावल ज्वार प्रमुख खाद्य फसलें हैं और फल प्रमुख नकदी फसलें हैं इस क्षेत्र की अधिकांश आबादी भेड़ चराई में लिप्त है
यहं की भेड़ एक उच्च गुणवत्ता वाली ऊन प्रदान करती है जिसका एक हिस्सा निर्यात किया जाता है लघु उद्योग कपास और ऊनी विनिर्माण कालीन बनाने कपड़ा चमड़े की कढ़ाई और खाद्य प्रसंस्करण तक सीमित हैं
पहाड़ी क्षेत्रों के कारण परिवहन सुविधाएं बहुत विकसित नहीं हैं क्वेटा रेलवे नेटवर्क का एक केंद्र है और यहाँ का हवाई अड्डा हवाई घरेलू सेवा प्रदान करता है
प्राकृतिक संसाधनों से समृद्ध होने के बावजूद इस क्षेत्र के लोग अत्यधिक खराब परिस्थितियों में रह रहे हैं
अधिकांश आबादी अनपढ़ है साथ ही बिजली और स्वच्छ पेयजल की अनुपलब्धता के साथ यहाँ की आबादी कुपोषित भी है
बलूचिस्तान क्षेत्र में शिक्षा
बलूचिस्तान प्रांत में साक्षरता का स्तर बहुत दयनीय है क्योंकि सौ में से केवल 25 प्रतिशत वयस्क साक्षर हैं और प्रांत में पुरुष साक्षरता दर 38 प्रतिशत और महिला साक्षरता दर 13 प्रतिशत है
बच्चों को शिक्षित करने सहित बलूचिस्तान प्रांत के लोगों को बुनियादी सुविधाएं देने में पाकिस्तान विफल रहा है बालिका शिक्षा की स्थिति बहुत निराशाजनक है क्योंकि हर दस में से नौ लड़कियां ग्रामीण बलूचिस्तान में स्कूल से बाहर हैं

The literacy level in Balochistan province is very pathetic as only 25 out of hundred izfr'kr are adult literate and the male literacy rate in the province is 38 izfr'kr and female literacy rate is 13 izfr'kr
Pakistan has failed to provide basic facilities to the people of Balochistan province including educating children. The situation of girl education is very disappointing as nine out of every ten girls are out of school in rural Balochistan
